I've always thought Oscar is just a name they give to an event, like The Oscar Academy Awards, The Emmy Awards and all. Turns out that Oscar is the name of a golden statue award."And the Oscar goes to..." and in my version it'll go something like this, "And the actor that gets to come home with a naked lean figure golden man, is..." What a joke.
My prediction was right afterall - i rooted for Kate Winslet to take the Best Actress award in her portrayal in The Reader, and Sean Penn for the Best Actor award for his Milk film. I've always fancied Sean Penn eversince I Am Sam, such a great actor i'd say.
Beyonce's performance with Hugh Jackman was nice. Damn, she can sing while dancing in a hyped up mode, without a note of breathlessness in her voice! Hey, that's what singers all do man. And Hugh Jackman, the once Wizard of Oz guy, brought broadway glitz to the Oscars.
Thinks that Slumdog Millionaire won too many awards. Bollywood invasion to Hollywood! I havent really watched the movie just yet.
Robert Pattinson looked ohhh-sooo-drools at the Academy Awards.
Spent my morning watching that show. Haha forgive me that i wasnt in my room.
I always watch the Oscars every year. Because it's something that erm only brings me closer to the showbiz (HAHA as if i wanna be in it, dream on! HAHA). But now this year, i get to watch it live. Well not really, because during the past few years, i could only watch the replay because i was occupied with school in the morning. I was just trying to clarify that it's like my annual dosage of Hollywood entertainment, other than the E!News and OMG.
A change of topic - what do i think of the National Day? Espicially when it comes to the 25th one? Erm nothing i guess. Well yeah i know i should be thankful to live here without wars and all (i am actually), but i guess im not too keen on those kind of celebrations.
It's a tradition that certain families go out to enjoy the festive in conjunction to the Silver Jubilee (sounds like Jolibee, haha yeah bimbo), but i've to say, im the kind who stays at home because i cant stand being in a crowd full of alienated people.
I'd be lying if i say i've never been to any of the events in the past years. In fact, i had, when i was a small kid, where everything seemed colouful and fun. It was right from the cucul to the pasar malam to the special events involving lumba perahu (i think thats what it's called) and all. Yeah, once or twice or dozens my dad would drive around the city and brought us to see the cucul thing. That was ages ago, i'd tell you that, like more than 7 years ago. And now the siblings and i are all grown ups. Eseh.
And arah pasar malam, membali apa saja wah yang ada disana atu - sutung tutuk (my malay version tuu), yang guring-guring things (haha bida bunyi nya) and lots. Makanan wah ehh, nyaman kali ahh. Brunei delicacy.
Badil and bunga api. Fire crackers. Yeap, been there, watched those kinds in the middle of the road (malas parking siring), staring up at the dark night above. Or my relatives would stopped by a nearby shop, and we would grab something for snacks and just enjoyed the fire crackers up there. Sangal lihir lapas atu nyantaaa! That was years ago.
A festive season, i'd say.
Needless to say, i think i'd prefer to stay at home. Unless there's an initiation *eyebrows wagging*.
And no, i didnt watch the National Day on TV. Haha.
At last, a decent post.
Out.
