A Genetic Clue to Why Autism Affects Boys More
Among the many mysteries that befuddle autism researchers: why the disorder affects boys four times more often than girls.
The newly discovered autism risk gene, identified by authors as CACNA1G, is more common in boys than in girls (why that's so is still not clear), and the authors suggest it plays a role in boys' increased risk of the developmental disorder. CACNA1G, which sits on chromosome 17, amid other genes that have been previously linked to autism, is responsible for regulating the flow of calcium into and out of cells. Nerve cells in the brain rely on calcium to become activated, and research suggests that imbalances in the mineral can result in the overstimulation of neural connections and create developmental problems, such as autism and even epilepsy, which is also a common feature of autism.

Anyways, something surprising happened at work today. While i was having my lunch break, as usual at 1pm in the pantry room or the staffs’ room, i was approached and was talked to someone rather important by one of the Baiduri officers. The deputy GM.
I was ‘enjoying’ my lychee canned drink, when suddenly the pantry door room opened and he was walking towards the table, as we wanted to some bananas (haha sounds funny). He said, “Waiting for university?” He was actually referring to me, as i was the only sole person in the room other than him. Haha tekejut beruk saya.
He offered some quite useful advices about universities and education. Haha he came a little bit too late though, should’ve been 2 years ago where my mind was still focused and adamant to achieve something great and the possibilities of obtaining it were within my grasps. Ohh well. He mentioned about the advantage of having job experiences regarding the courses about to pursue in uni, it comes quite useful actually. And he mentioned about being focused, referring to me that i should keep my intentions focused to excel a particular course or subjects pursued. He gave some examples about the people he knew back then.
Turns out to be a good conversation afterall, even though i was rather stiff and nerve-wrecked talking to the deputy person that handles car loans stuffs. Heyyyy, who wouldn’t feel awkward, huhh? HAHA.
So, basically that’s all i can blabber about today. Quite a contradictory post compared to the previous one, isn’t it? Well, i still don’t really fancy working.

I don’t fancy working. Nor coming home late. Nor not being able to go down from my work-station just to see someone i know for a couple of minutes. Nor being able to take a couple of minutes off just to message in the phone every now and then. Nor being able to fold my legs up as i feel really sore sitting down with straight legs because they’re afraid the big bosses may see that. Nor being able to be away for 15 minutes without being asked where i’ve gone to. Nor being able to talk on the phone.
I’m doing the same old thing everyday at work.
But i do fancy the cash being banked in at the end of the month.
Everyday, i’m always looking forward to my lunchtime and coming home from work, because that’s the only time i’m gonna be able to spend quality time.
I showed someone around my workplace yesterday. Ahhhh it was nice, but kinda risky at the same time, haha. We even went through the restricted hallway, where the only very important people go into i.e the bosses, because we couldn’t exit the department as the usual exiting area was used by a client. Thus, we use the other way out. I had to keep my nerve calm, though i do think that a couple of the bosses saw us. Haha, my badddd.
But it was fun, even though i was kinda stiff throughout, sorry about that.
I’m glad about yesterday.

Anyways, you know way before (i’d mention way back then, about a year ago) that i like to decorate bedrooms, especially my own. Well, i’d like to do like what the photo down there shows. Wish. Haha.
Wood panels on the walls, light oak flooring, red wardrobe, brown bed sheets, red pillows. Perfect. We’ll have to wait then, but i know it’ll happen.

What really annoys me is the fact that MSN keeps on sending me (because i added my own email, haha pathetic, yes) and my other contacts this. Refer down there.
Who do you think i am? I’m not horny. I don’t have time to send these things to my contacts every time i sign in, let alone browse into those raunchy sites.

My HECAS data has finally been restored. A bit relieving.
It’s gonna be a lonely saturday this week.
My driving lesson starts sunday next week. Like someone said, i past 2 birthday trips before i finally get my driving license. Haha good one.
I am looking forward for a particular special memorable event.
Planning to quit my job sometime in June. I would quit now if i dont have debts all around me.
I want a haircut. My hair is jotting out everywhere. It’s a mess already.
The song that was once dedicated to me has a play count of 64 times in my iTunes. And counting.
Feels really lucky eversince end of April last year. Yes.
Get to drive a convertible for a couple of minutes, and it was fun, the feeling of night wind slapping my face and blowing my hair.

14 days of absence.
I cant quite recall what exactly happened, but i do remember
- i ‘sneaked’ out to purchase something really worth it, and got all hyped up about it, couldn’t wait,
- got scolded at work. Been called “stupid” by a colleague, but then i guess it was actually my fault due to my lack of attention to the work given,
- spent a really quality time every saturdays, and i love it, because it’s my only one day of the week that’s worth smiling about,
- took a day off from work, finally! Because…(look at the next point)
- my HECAS got fucked up, and just found out about it almost one month after its deadline.
Special mention to the last point – i got all panicked, till now, still. My data in the HECAS form are gone, wiped out, as if i’ve never applied before. Complaint to the MOE, and hopefully everything will be okay. Fingers cross. Lets pray hard.
You lot remember Adam Lambert’s performance last week on Mad World? No wonder i’ve heard that song from somewhere. Turns out that i’ve had it long time ago, just that i didn’t notice it, haha. It’s been in my hardrive. Anyways, it’s such a fantastic song. I think the original version came from Tears for Fears. But i like Gary Jules’ version though.
I’m lagging behind with keeping up-to-date with downloading music and tv shows nowadays. I think i’m gonna download The Tudors Season 3 and Nip/Tuck Season 7 (i think) soon. I’m into Samantha Who and Eli Stone. Haha yeah i know supposed to be months ago judging by the fact that i have Samantha Who's DVD somewhere downstairs, but i didn’t get the chance to fully watch it till last week. And Eli Stone, it’s because well it’s because of its first name which is Eli, and plus it’s a nice tv show anyway.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA with Android inside? Why not!? They have confirmed that the company is planning on developing an Android-based handset. Sealover from Esato forum has updated his Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with great minimalist design. The XPERIA X2 is what everyone would expect: a smartphone that packs a pretty big touchscreen, the classic Android interface, touch-sensitive (or virtual) “Back”, “Home” and “Menu” keys, plus two calls keys at the bottom and a navigational mechanism.
I doubt that it’ll be out this year though, maybe 2010.

I’m back to blogging, baby! Almost 1.3 weeks of absence.
My internet connection was down for the past 2 weeks, couldn’t get through the net decently. Blew my mind off actually. It caused me troubles because it jeopardized my daily dosage of pure happiness. Eseh.
But now, it’s all good. Turns out that the internet modem needs to be changed every 2 years because the JTB person told that every modem of theirs have expiry date. Haha that’s new.
I’m getting hitched to my work now. Though there are a couple of ‘tagur’ and minor scolding thing everyday. Well, as they say, that’s how working is. And i’ve to bear with it for the sake of monay. Haha.
My bed is getting less attention from me nowadays. Aww, there there *ulit-ulit*
It feels like the days are moving on faster than i thought. I mean, today i get up for work (eseh rugged bunyi nya haha), then comes home around 6pm. Then sleep around 11pm. It’s like that everyday and i didn’t even notice nor realize that it has been 4 days gone. Time flies so fast when you have a lot of things to do. Sometimes i even forgot what day it is. But i do remember the date, because i’ve to, haha it’s a work thing homie. Esehhhh!
Anyways, I miss phuhh…heheh. But yeah i do *gulik-gulik on the floor, wailing*
